Aaron Cohn, MD

Bio

Aaron Cohn, MD, practices ophthalmology with fellowship training in glaucoma. Undergraduate work at Brandeis University in neuroscience, with an anthropology minor, preceded a medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University. Ophthalmology residency was completed at Beaumont in Michigan after a transitional year at the same hospital, and a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago finished the training pathway, with a resident lecturer role along the way.

In practice since 2010, Dr. Cohn provides medical and surgical care for glaucoma along with cataract surgery for adults. Published work in peer reviewed journals includes a study of glaucoma tube shunt implantation through the ciliary sulcus in eyes at high risk of corneal decompensation and a study of surgical outcomes in epiretinal membrane disease. Research has also been presented at national meetings in vision research and in glaucoma.

Dr. Cohn holds board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Memberships also include the American Glaucoma Society and the state medical societies of Pennsylvania and Delaware. Spanish is spoken in addition to English. In Dr. Cohn's own words, "Glaucoma usually gives no warning, so the work is finding it early and keeping the pressure controlled for the long run. I want patients to leave every visit knowing where their vision stands and what comes next."
