Dr. Mashid is an optometrist at The Eye Center who provides comprehensive eye examinations and surgical co-management, with a special interest in the treatment and management of ocular disease. A native of Arlington, Virginia, she earned a bachelor's degree in health sciences from James Madison University before completing her Doctor of Optometry at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. Clinical internships at clinics and hospitals in Puerto Rico and across the Northern Virginia area rounded out her training.
Dr. Mashid's everyday care spans comprehensive and routine eye examinations, primary eye care for patients of all ages, contact lens fittings, and the evaluation and management of conditions such as dry eye and diabetic eye disease. She also provides surgical co-management, guiding patients through the pre- and post-operative stages of cataract and refractive procedures, and offers care for eye emergencies. Both English and Spanish are spoken in her care.
Dr. Mashid is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and the Northern Virginia Optometric Society, and she has completed the licensing requirements to practice optometry in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Patients can visit Dr. Mashid at The Eye Center in Fairfax and Alexandria, Virginia, at whichever appointment time works best for them.
