Bio

Brenda Pagan-Duran, MD, is an ophthalmologist who chose to pursue a career in eye care after completing undergraduate studies at Harvard University. Dr. Pagan-Duran then earned her medical degree from University of Puerto Rico Medical School, spending years mastering the medical and surgical side of eye care. Dr. Pagan-Duran then trained as a resident at UMDNJ–New Jersey Medical School, where the focus was on building real-world experience with patients day after day. All told, Dr. Pagan-Duran brings a wealth of training and real clinical experience to every interaction with a patient.

Dr. Pagan-Duran specializes in Glaucoma Surgery and Dry Eye, areas where focused expertise makes a real difference for patients. The way glaucoma works is that it gradually puts pressure on the optic nerve, and since it rarely causes pain in the early stages, Dr. Pagan-Duran prioritizes thorough screenings to catch it as soon as possible. When it comes to younger patients, Dr. Pagan-Duran understands that kids need extra patience and reassurance, which is why pediatric eye care is such an important part of this practice.
