Bio

Caitlyn Kennedy Mitchell, OD, is an optometrist with a background that begins at University of Delaware, where she built the academic skills that would shape her career. Dr. Mitchell continued her education at New England College of Optometry, earning a Doctor of Optometry and gaining firsthand experience with a wide variety of eye conditions. Together, these experiences have given Dr. Mitchell a strong and well-rounded foundation that patients benefit from every day. Years of careful, step-by-step training have set Dr. Mitchell up to offer the kind of thorough, personalized care that patients deserve.

Dr. Mitchell's specialty areas include Dry Eye and Glaucoma, and that focused training is something patients benefit from right away. Glaucoma is a condition that can quietly damage the nerve at the back of the eye over time, often without any noticeable symptoms, which is why routine check-ups play such an important role in catching it early. Contact lens fitting requires skill and attention to detail, particularly when a patient's eye has a unique shape or condition, and Dr. Mitchell takes a patient-by-patient approach to get it right. Dr. Mitchell also has expertise in Comprehensive Eye Exams, Pre- and Post-Operative Care, and Scleral Contact Lenses, giving patients access to a wide range of care in one place.

Dr. Mitchell stays involved through membership in the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), an investment in professional development that benefits every patient. Dr. Mitchell also gives back through volunteer work, a sign that helping others extends well beyond the practice. Dr. Mitchell has contributed to the education of future ophthalmologists, sharing hard-won clinical knowledge with the next generation. Dr. Mitchell sees patients at ReFocus Eye Health Danbury, and the goal there is always to make the experience straightforward and stress-free.
