Bio

Chanpreet Kataria, OD, is an optometrist who chose to pursue a career in eye care after completing undergraduate studies at CUNY Brooklyn College. Dr. Kataria then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, graduating cum laude, where hands-on patient care became a central part of her training. Dr. Kataria then completed an internship at Keller Memorial hospital at West Point Military Academy, Northport VA hospital, Brooklyn/St.Albans VA hospital, The Eye Institute, EyeRx, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. After graduating, Dr. Kataria completed a residency at Northport VA Hospital, gaining the kind of patient-facing experience that no classroom can replicate.

Dr. Kataria specializes in Primary Eye Care and Contact Lenses & Fittings, areas where focused expertise makes a real difference for patients. Contact lens fitting requires skill and attention to detail, particularly when a patient's eye has a unique shape or condition, and Dr. Kataria takes a patient-by-patient approach to get it right. Beyond the core specialties, Dr. Kataria also handles Ocular Disease Management, and Pre- and Post-Operative Care, so patients do not have to look far for the care they need. Whether it is a routine check-up or something more involved, Dr. Kataria makes sure each patient leaves feeling informed and confident in their next steps.

Dr. Kataria is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and the Northern Virginia Optometric Association, staying connected to the broader eye care community and continuing to grow as a professional. Originally from Long Island, Dr. Kataria brings a warmth and approachability to every patient interaction. Patients can see Dr. Kataria at The Eye Center Sterling, The Eye Center Leesburg, or The Eye Center Fairfax, making it easy to find a location that works. If you have questions or are ready to schedule, Dr. Kataria would be happy to see you at any time.
