Bio

Bradford Liva M.D., MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon & medical retina specialist who earned his undergraduate degree from Boston University, setting the foundation for a career spent helping people see their best. Dr. M.D. followed up with a medical degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara, where the focus shifted to the detailed science of eye diseases and their treatment. Residency training at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey gave Dr. M.D. hands-on experience across many areas of eye care, preparing him well for the years ahead. Dr. M.D. rounded out his training with a fellowship in Retina-Vitreous Diseases & Surgery, which gave him a deep, focused understanding of the area where he now spends most of his time helping patients.

Dr. M.D. has dedicated a significant part of his career to Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Degeneration, and that shows in the quality of care patients receive. The retina is the thin layer at the back of the eye that converts light into the images your brain processes, and when something goes wrong there, Dr. M.D. works to catch and treat it as early as possible. Dr. M.D. rounds out his offerings with experience in Retina & Vitreous Disease, and Retinal Vascular Disorders, making for a well-rounded practice. The way Dr. M.D. sees it, a patient who understands what is happening with their eyes is a patient who can make the best decisions for their health.

Membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology is something Dr. M.D. values, as it keeps Dr. M.D. current with the standards and advances in the field. In addition to English, Dr. M.D. also speaks Spanish, which makes it easier for patients who are more comfortable in their native language to feel at ease. Dr. M.D. has been involved in teaching as well, sharing knowledge and experience with the next generation of eye care professionals.
