Bio
Brian Cheung, OD, is an optometrist who began his education at University of Waterloo, where he first developed an interest in the science behind eye health. Dr. Cheung then went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry from New England College of Optometry, where hands-on patient care became a central part of his training. Dr. Cheung carries all of that training and experience into every visit, making it easier for patients to feel at ease. All of this adds up to a provider who is both well-trained and genuinely invested in helping every patient feel their best.
Dr. Cheung's specialty areas include Dry Eye and Diabetic Eye Care, and that focused training is something patients benefit from right away. Dry eye is more common than most people expect, and Dr. Cheung helps patients understand what is causing their discomfort and what options are available to address it. Beyond the core specialties, Dr. Cheung also handles Primary Eye Care, and Ocular Disease Management, so patients do not have to look far for the care they need. Whether it is a routine check-up or something more involved, Dr. Cheung makes sure each patient leaves feeling informed and confident in their next steps.
Professionally, Dr. Cheung is affiliated with the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists, which reflects a commitment to keeping up with the latest in eye care. Dr. Cheung enjoys cooking in his free time, a creative outlet that keeps life interesting outside of work. Travel is something Dr. Cheung enjoys, whether it is exploring a new city or simply getting away from the routine. You can see Dr. Cheung at ReFocus Eye Health Meriden Curtis or ReFocus Eye Health Meriden South Broad, making it easy to find a location that fits your schedule.
