Bio
Matthew Hosler MD, MD, PhD, is a cataract & glaucoma surgeon who began his education at University of Pennsylvania, where he first developed an interest in the science behind eye health. After that, Dr. MD completed his medical degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, diving deep into the study of how the eye works and how to keep it healthy. During residency at Penn State University School of Medicine, Dr. MD rose to become chief resident, showing both clinical ability and the kind of leadership that patients notice. Most recently, Dr. MD completed fellowship training in Glaucoma Surgery, an experience that sharpened his skills and gave him real confidence in this area of eye care.
Specializing in Glaucoma Surgery and Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) is what sets Dr. MD apart, and patients notice that depth of knowledge right from the start. Glaucoma is one of those conditions that most people do not notice until it has already had an effect, which is why Dr. MD takes a careful, proactive approach to checking for it at every visit. Dr. MD also has expertise in General Ophthalmology, and Diabetic Eye Care, giving patients access to a wide range of care in one place. Each patient who comes in gets Dr. MD's full attention and a clear, honest explanation of what is going on and what can be done about it.
When not seeing patients, Dr. MD enjoys playing softball, a sport that is as much about fun as it is about staying active. Teaching is something Dr. MD takes seriously, because helping the next generation of eye care professionals matters just as much as helping patients. You can visit Dr. MD at Associated Eye Physicians & Surgeons Union, Associated Eye Physicians & Surgeons Belleville, or Associated Eye Physicians & Surgeons Jersey City, and any of those locations would be glad to see you. Your eye health is important, and Dr. MD is here to make sure it gets the attention it deserves.
