Bio
Patricia Martinez, MD, is an ophthalmologist who earned her medical degree from University of Navarra, setting the stage for a career focused on eye care. Residency training at Drexel University gave Dr. Martinez hands-on experience across many areas of eye care, preparing her well for the years ahead. Most recently, Dr. Martinez completed fellowship training in Glaucoma Research, an experience that sharpened her skills and gave her real confidence in this area of eye care. Together, these experiences have given Dr. Martinez a strong and well-rounded foundation that patients benefit from every day.
Dr. Martinez's specialty areas include Glaucoma Surgery and Dry Eye, and that focused training is something patients benefit from right away. The way glaucoma works is that it gradually puts pressure on the optic nerve, and since it rarely causes pain in the early stages, Dr. Martinez prioritizes thorough screenings to catch it as soon as possible. Cataracts slowly make the lens less clear, which can affect everything from reading a menu to watching a favorite show, and Dr. Martinez has the experience to help patients through every stage of treatment. Dr. Martinez rounds out her offerings with experience in Cataract Surgery, and General Ophthalmology, making for a well-rounded practice.
Dr. Martinez speaks Spanish alongside English, so patients who prefer to communicate in that language can do so comfortably. Originally from Spain, Dr. Martinez brings a warmth and approachability to every patient interaction. Family comes first for Dr. Martinez, and that warmth and patience is something patients notice right away. Patients can see Dr. Martinez at ReFocus Eye Health Hatboro, ReFocus Eye Health Trappe Collegeville, or ReFocus Eye Health North Wales, making it easy to find a location that works.
