What services do you provide?

We are a specialty practice focused on functional and developmental eyecare. These are the parts of vision that a normal eye exam don't cover, but in many cases are the cause of significant challenges. We provide in depth evaluation and treatment for developmental vision challenges (commonly called vision related learning issues), vision problems after a head injury such as concussions, whiplash, and strokes, and athletes who are looking to get a visual edge over their competition.

What treatments do you provide?

That will depend on you, for some patients we will have them go home with some activities and see them back in a few months to check on them. For others we will start with vision therapy. In many cases we will combine vision therapy with light therapy, and sometimes we recommend primitive reflex training. In certain cases we may also recommend special lenses with prisms, although usually that is only a temporary solution to improve therapy outcomes. Each patient will be treated in a way that addresses the specific visual needs, for some it is visual motor, others visual processing, and yet others successful treatment can only begin once they are in a mental and physical space to start.

Dr. Rick Graebe received both his degree in Visual Science and Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. He is a Behavioral & Neuro-Rehabilitation Optometrist and learning expert. He has been in private practice in central Kentucky for the past 35+ years.

He offers vision therapy and neuro-rehabilitation services for patients of all ages. Dr. Graebe is one of a select group of international optometrists who have completed board certification in Vision Therapy, Pediatric Developmental Vision Care and Vision Rehabilitation with the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA).

His passion for helping patients reach their full potential in school, sports, rehabilitation, etc. is what drove him to open Neuro-Visual Performance Institute and create a program in which patients can thrive
