Bio

Robert Vallar, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon & medical retina specialist who earned his undergraduate degree from Manhattan College, NY, setting the foundation for a career spent helping people see their best. Dr. Vallar followed up with a medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where the focus shifted to the detailed science of eye diseases and their treatment. Dr. Vallar then completed an internship at Westchester County Medical Center, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. Dr. Vallar completed his residency at Nassau County Medical Center, where he spent years working closely with patients and refining his clinical skills. To cap off his education, Dr. Vallar pursued a fellowship in Retina-Vitreous Diseases, spending time learning the finer details of this specialty from experts in the field.

Dr. Vallar's specialty areas include Retinal Vascular Disorders and Retinal Tears & Detachments, and that focused training is something patients benefit from right away. Dr. Vallar understands that the retina is where clear vision starts, and takes that seriously by staying up to date on the latest ways to protect and treat it.
