Dr. Salman Dar

Bio

Salman Dar, MD, is a cataract, glaucoma, & lasik surgeon who chose to pursue a career in eye care after completing undergraduate studies at University of Wisconsin–Madison. After that, Dr. Dar completed his medical degree at University of Minnesota, diving deep into the study of how the eye works and how to keep it healthy. During residency at George Washington University, Dr. Dar rose to become chief resident, showing both clinical ability and the kind of leadership that patients notice. Most recently, Dr. Dar completed fellowship training in Glaucoma & Anterior Segment Surgeries Columbia University, an experience that sharpened his skills and gave him real confidence in this area of eye care.

When it comes to LASIK & Refractive Surgery and Cataract Surgery, Dr. Dar brings both deep training and hands-on experience to every appointment. Glaucoma is one of those conditions that most people do not notice until it has already had an effect, which is why Dr. Dar takes a careful, proactive approach to checking for it at every visit. As the lens of the eye gradually clouds, it can take the sharpness out of everyday vision, and Dr. Dar helps patients figure out the best way to address it when the time is right. Dr. Dar also has expertise in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), and Premium IOLs, giving patients access to a wide range of care in one place.

Dr. Dar stays involved through membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, an investment in professional development that benefits every patient. Speaking Spanish, Hindi, Urdu in addition to English is something that helps Dr. Dar connect with a wider range of patients and make them feel welcome. Music is something Dr. Dar enjoys outside of work, whether that means playing or simply listening. Dr. Dar enjoys travel and adventure when the chance comes, keeping life balanced outside of the practice.
