Bio

Gabe Shakarov, MD, is a cataract & glaucoma surgeon who earned his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine, setting the stage for a career focused on eye care. During residency at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, Dr. Shakarov honed his ability to handle a wide range of eye care situations under the supervision of experienced physicians. Most recently, Dr. Shakarov completed fellowship training in Glaucoma, an experience that sharpened his skills and gave him real confidence in this area of eye care. All of this adds up to a provider who is both well-trained and genuinely invested in helping every patient feel their best.

When it comes to Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) and Glaucoma Surgery, Dr. Shakarov brings both deep training and hands-on experience to every appointment. Glaucoma is a condition that can quietly damage the nerve at the back of the eye over time, often without any noticeable symptoms, which is why routine check-ups play such an important role in catching it early. Cataracts are one of the most common reasons people come in noticing a change in their vision, and Dr. Shakarov guides each patient through the process of understanding and addressing this condition. Dr. Shakarov rounds out his offerings with experience in Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery, and Premium IOLs, making for a well-rounded practice.

Outside the office, Dr. Shakarov enjoys running, a habit that keeps him active and energized. Dr. Shakarov sees patients at Greenwich Ophthalmology Associates, and the goal there is always to make the experience straightforward and stress-free. New and returning patients alike are always welcome, and Dr. Shakarov is glad to be part of your eye health journey. Eye care should feel approachable, not stressful, and that is exactly the kind of experience Dr. Shakarov aims to provide.
