Bio

Gregory Haffner, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon whose path to eye care started while studying at Trinity College-Hartford. Dr. Haffner followed up with a medical degree from Royal College of Surgeons, where the focus shifted to the detailed science of eye diseases and their treatment. Dr. Haffner then completed an internship at Yale New Haven Hospital, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. After graduating, Dr. Haffner completed a residency at Yale University in New Haven, gaining the kind of patient-facing experience that no classroom can replicate. Dr. Haffner finished his formal training with a fellowship in Retina, which allowed him to zero in on the kind of care he provides today.

When it comes to Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Degeneration, Dr. Haffner brings both deep training and hands-on experience to every appointment. When it comes to retina health, catching problems early makes a real difference in outcomes, and that is exactly where Dr. Haffner's focus lies. Dr. Haffner rounds out his offerings with experience in Macular Edema, and Retinal Vascular Disorders, making for a well-rounded practice. Dr. Haffner takes a straightforward approach: explain things clearly, take the time that is needed, and make sure the patient feels good about their care.

Dr. Haffner stays involved through membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, an investment in professional development that benefits every patient. Dr. Haffner is available at New England Retina Associates Trumbull, New England Retina Associates Hamden, or New England Retina Associates Westport, so there are several convenient options for patients. From the very first appointment, the goal is to make sure you feel welcome, informed, and well taken care of. If you have questions or are ready to schedule, Dr. Haffner would be happy to see you at any time.
