Bio

Houriya Mahboobi, OD, is an optometrist who began her education at University of Virginia, where she first developed an interest in the science behind eye health. Dr. Mahboobi then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where hands-on patient care became a central part of her training. Dr. Mahboobi then completed an internship at Salem VA Medical Hospital, See Clearly Vision, Capital Eye consultants, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. Residency training at Salem VA Medical Hospital gave Dr. Mahboobi hands-on experience across many areas of eye care, preparing her well for the years ahead.

When it comes to Primary Eye Care and Contact Lenses & Fittings, Dr. Mahboobi brings both deep training and hands-on experience to every appointment. Contact lens fitting requires skill and attention to detail, particularly when a patient's eye has a unique shape or condition, and Dr. Mahboobi takes a patient-by-patient approach to get it right. In addition to those specialties, Dr. Mahboobi works with patients who need help with Ocular Disease Management, and Pre- and Post-Operative Care as well. Dr. Mahboobi understands that eye care can feel intimidating, which is why the priority is always to make the experience as comfortable and clear as possible.
