Bio
Jacqueline Deneen Griffiths, MD, is a lasik & cataract surgeon with a background that begins at Yale University, where she built the academic skills that would shape her career. Dr. Griffiths went on to earn her medical degree from University of Michigan Medical School, where she gained a thorough grounding in the science and treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Griffiths then completed an internship at Medical Center of Delaware, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. Dr. Griffiths then trained as a resident at Georgetown University Medical Center, where the focus was on building real-world experience with patients day after day.
Dr. Griffiths specializes in Glaucoma Surgery and LASIK & Refractive Surgery, areas where focused expertise makes a real difference for patients. Glaucoma works quietly, and by the time most people notice something wrong, some damage may already have been done, so Dr. Griffiths emphasizes the importance of regular eye pressure checks and nerve evaluations. Cataracts develop when the lens of the eye becomes cloudy, and over time that cloudiness can make everyday things like reading or driving noticeably harder, which is when Dr. Griffiths helps patients explore their options. In addition to those specialties, Dr. Griffiths works with patients who need help with Cataract Surgery, and Eyelid & Brow Surgery as well.
Dr. Griffiths maintains professional ties through the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, a sign of ongoing dedication to the craft of eye care. Dr. Griffiths has earned Top Doctor recognition, a distinction that speaks to the quality of care patients experience. Dr. Griffiths has also received a grant from the National Institutes of Health, recognizing the value of her contributions to eye care research. Family is at the heart of Dr. Griffiths's life outside the practice, and that grounded sense of care is reflected in how she treats patients. Dr. Griffiths is available at NewView Eye Center Reston or NewView Eye Center Leesburg, so patients can choose the spot that is most convenient.
