James P Dailey, MD

Bio

James P Dailey, MD, is a retina surgeon practicing in the city where Dr. Dailey was born and raised. A Harvard College degree led to medical school at Cornell, an internal medicine internship outside Boston, and then ophthalmology residency and fellowship at Harvard, with further fellowship work at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

The clinical work is retinal disease, medical and surgical, alongside general ophthalmology. Research has run in parallel with it: five patents in polymer chemistry applied to the retina, twenty seven published papers, and talks given at national meetings in the field.

Board certification comes from the American Board of Ophthalmology, with fellowship in the American College of Surgeons and membership in the Retina Society. Erie is home, the city where Dr. Dailey was raised and still lives. In Dr. Dailey's own words, "The retina is unforgiving about time, so I would rather see someone the same day than tell them it can wait. The other half of this work happens at the bench, because most of what I have patented began as a problem I could not solve in the clinic."
