Dr. John Huang, M.B.A., C.P.E., is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal disorders and ocular inflammatory diseases. With over two decades of experience, including leadership roles at Yale University, he combines clinical expertise with a dedication to advancing ophthalmic research and education. Dr. Huang is also an active contributor to global public health initiatives and serves as the founder of the Connecticut Uveitis Foundation.

Bio

Dr. John Huang, M.B.A., C.P.E., is an esteemed member of our team at New England Retina Associates. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital in New York City. Dr. Huang further specialized in ocular immunology and uveitis through a fellowship at Harvard University / Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, followed by a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has been board certified in Ophthalmology since 2005.

With over two decades of experience, Dr. Huang has made significant contributions to the field. He served as an Associate Professor, Residency Program Director, Director of Uveitis Service, and Co-Director of Vitreo-Retina Service for the Department of Ophthalmology at Yale University for seven years. Before joining New England Retina Associates in 2016, he practiced with Eye Disease Consultants in Hartford, Connecticut.

Dr. Huang specializes in vitreoretinal disorders and ocular inflammatory diseases. He actively participates in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Uveitis Society, and the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians. He is also the founder of the Connecticut Uveitis Foundation.

Dr. Huang's contributions to the field extend beyond his clinical practice. He has authored textbooks, published numerous articles, and conducted various clinical research trials focused on conditions such as Age-Related Macular Degeneration, Retinal Vein Occlusions, Diabetic Macular Edema, and the Treatment of Non-Infectious Anterior Uveitis. Additionally, he serves on the Committee for Global Burden of Disease for the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) and actively participates in public health initiatives related to ocular conditions in the United States and internationally.
