Bio

Joshua M. Greene, MD, FAAO, is a retina specialist who earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, setting the stage for a career focused on eye care. Dr. Greene then completed an internship at Temple University School of Medicine, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. After graduating, Dr. Greene completed a residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, gaining the kind of patient-facing experience that no classroom can replicate. Dr. Greene finished his formal training with a fellowship in Surgical Retina, which allowed him to zero in on the kind of care he provides today.

Dr. Greene's specialty areas include Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Degeneration, and that focused training is something patients benefit from right away. The retina is the thin layer at the back of the eye that converts light into the images your brain processes, and when something goes wrong there, Dr. Greene works to catch and treat it as early as possible. In addition to those specialties, Dr. Greene works with patients who need help with Retinal Vascular Disorders, and Retina & Vitreous Disease as well. Dr. Greene takes a straightforward approach: explain things clearly, take the time that is needed, and make sure the patient feels good about their care.

Dr. Greene is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the American Medical Association, staying connected to the broader eye care community and continuing to grow as a professional. Teaching is something Dr. Greene takes seriously, because helping the next generation of eye care professionals matters just as much as helping patients. You can see Dr. Greene at Retina Associates of Greater Philadelphia Nazareth Hospital or Retina Associates of Greater Philadelphia Plymouth Greene, making it easy to find a location that fits your schedule. Dr. Greene understands that choosing an eye care provider is an important decision, and hopes to earn your trust.
