Bio
Kaitlyn Brettin, M.D., serves as a glaucoma specialist whose preparation pairs broad academic depth with surgical fellowship training. Tufts University awarded the undergraduate foundation, with summa cum laude honors across paired majors in Biology and Psychology. Harvard Medical School followed for the medical degree, after which Thomas Jefferson University Hospital hosted the internship year before Wills Eye Hospital for ophthalmology residency. The current academic year, running 2025 into 2026, is committed to glaucoma subspecialty work at Minnesota Eye Consultants.
Clinical focus pairs glaucoma and cataract care, the two specialty areas named on Dr. Brettin's profile. Research interest centers on minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, with case work presented at major ophthalmology conferences during the fellowship year. Peer-reviewed publications span glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, and neonatal medicine.
In Dr. Brettin's own words, "Every patient deserves clear, honest information about their vision and a care plan that respects the life they live outside the exam room. My goal is to listen first, explain in plain language, and make sure each person leaves feeling heard." Patients can visit Dr. Brettin at Minnesota Eye Consultants in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul area, whichever office works best for them.
