Bio

Melanne Rosetta, OD, trained first in Australia, taking an optometry degree at the Queensland University of Technology, then practicing there for nine years. Ocular therapeutics study at the University of New South Wales came next. A move to the United States led to a second optometry doctorate from the New England College of Optometry, awarded with honors, and then a residency in ocular disease.

The practice is weighted toward ocular disease and toward the medical side of surgical care. Patients arrive for refractive surgery evaluation and follow-up, for cataract surgery planning that can include the Light Adjustable Lens, and for tertiary problems another practice has referred on. Same-day and emergency appointments are part of the schedule rather than an exception to it, which matters when a red eye or a sudden change in vision cannot wait for the next opening. Directing the residency program keeps the reasoning explicit, because a resident asks why.

Dr. Rosetta is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, was named the state's Young Optometrist of the Year in 2024, and belongs to optometric associations in two states and nationally. Volunteer work with Kremer Cares has taken that care to communities overseas. In Dr. Rosetta's own words, "Practicing on two continents taught me that the eye is the same everywhere but the person in front of it never is.
