Bio
Mitchell Vogel, MD, FAAO, FACS, is an ophthalmologist whose formal training began with medical school at Temple University School of Medicine, continued with an internal medicine year at Mountainside Medical Center, and moved on to residency training in ophthalmology at Nassau County Medical Center. A fellowship in ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center rounded out the pathway in 1996, and more than 25 years of practice have followed.
Day to day, Dr. Vogel evaluates and treats diseases of the eye in adults, pairing office-based medical care with surgery when a condition calls for it. Appointments range from routine checkups to focused visits for new symptoms or changes in vision, and long-standing conditions are followed over time so treatment can be adjusted as needs change.
Dr. Vogel is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds Fellow credentials with the American College of Surgeons as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology. French and Spanish are spoken in the office in addition to English, and patients can request any of the three for a visit. In Dr. Vogel's own words, "I want patients to understand what is happening with their eyes and to feel confident in the plan we make together. Careful explanation and steady follow-up matter to me as much as the treatment itself." Patients can visit Dr. Vogel at United Medical in Bayonne, New Jersey.
