Monica Dalal, MD

Bio

An ophthalmologist focused on medical retina and uveitis, Dr. Dalal brings board-certified, fellowship-level expertise to patients with complex eye conditions. The path began with undergraduate study at Michigan and a medical degree earned at Cincinnati, marked by Alpha Omega Alpha recognition. A Detroit internship and an ophthalmology residency, capped by a chief resident role, came next, followed by combined retina and uveitis fellowship work at the NEI within the NIH.

Day to day, the practice centers on retinal and macular conditions together with inflammatory disease of the eye, including uveitis. Careful diagnosis guides each treatment plan, with explanations offered in plain language so patients understand what is happening and why. Clinical research experience gained during fellowship informs how the most challenging cases are approached and managed.

Certification comes from the American Board of Ophthalmology, and membership in the American Society of Retina Specialists keeps the practice connected to subspecialty colleagues. In Dr. Dalal's own words, "I want every patient to understand what is happening with their eyes and to feel like a partner in their own care. My goal is to combine careful diagnosis with treatments that protect and preserve vision over the long term."
