Rajini Seevaratnam, OD, is an optometrist whose path to eye care started while studying at Western University. Dr. Seevaratnam followed that with a Doctor of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry, an experience that gave her strong clinical skills and a deep understanding of patient care. Dr. Seevaratnam then completed an internship at New England Eye, South Boston Community Health Center, White River Junction VA Center, Fenway Community Health, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. Along the way, Dr. Seevaratnam took part in research that contributes to better treatments for eye conditions.
When it comes to Ocular Disease Management and Pre- and Post-Operative Care, Dr. Seevaratnam brings both deep training and hands-on experience to every appointment. For patients who need specialty contact lenses, Dr. Seevaratnam brings a careful, individualized approach that goes beyond a standard prescription check. For patients dealing with dry, uncomfortable eyes, Dr. Seevaratnam offers a thorough evaluation and a range of treatment approaches tailored to each person's situation. Dr. Seevaratnam has also received a grant from the National Institutes of Health, recognizing the value of her contributions to eye care research. Originally from Toronto, Dr. Seevaratnam brings a warmth and approachability to every patient interaction. When not seeing patients, Dr. Seevaratnam likes to travel and experience new places whenever possible. Dr. Seevaratnam sees patients at Washington Eye Institute Greenbelt, and the goal there is always to make the experience straightforward and stress-free.
