Rebecca Bausell, MD

Bio

Rebecca Bausell, MD, practices ophthalmology with fellowship training focused on the cornea and on vision correction surgery. Undergraduate work at Boston University in psychology and public health concluded with departmental distinction in research and magna cum laude honors, and a medical degree followed at Columbia University. Residency in ophthalmology came next at the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute, and fellowship study in cornea and external eye disease at the University of Maryland completed the training pathway.

The clinical practice covers laser vision correction with LASIK and PRK, cataract surgery with specialty intraocular lens implants, cross-linking treatment for keratoconus, pterygium excision, and corneal transplantation. Dr. Bausell evaluates candidates for vision correction and explains which options suit the eye being treated. Published work in peer reviewed journals reflects an ongoing interest in clinical research.

Dr. Bausell holds board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology. Society memberships span national organizations in medicine, ophthalmology, and refractive surgery.
