Bio
Robert C. Kleiner, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon whose path to eye care started while studying at Princeton University. Dr. Kleiner went on to earn his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, graduating summa cum laude, where he gained a thorough grounding in the science and treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Kleiner then completed an internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. Dr. Kleiner then trained as a resident at University of Pennsylvania, where the focus was on building real-world experience with patients day after day. Most recently, Dr. Kleiner completed fellowship training in Surgical Retina, an experience that sharpened his skills and gave him real confidence in this area of eye care.
Dr. Kleiner's specialty areas include Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Degeneration, and that focused training is something patients benefit from right away. The retina is delicate, and conditions that affect it need to be watched carefully, something Dr. Kleiner does with every relevant patient to make sure their vision stays as strong as possible. In addition to those specialties, Dr. Kleiner works with patients who need help with Retinal Vascular Disorders, and Retinal Tears & Detachments as well. Dr. Kleiner believes that every patient deserves a clear explanation and enough time to ask questions, and that is what they get at every visit.
Membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Retina Society, and the Macula Society is something Dr. Kleiner values, as it keeps Dr. Kleiner current with the standards and advances in the field. Patients have helped Dr. Kleiner earn Top Doctor status, a testament to the trust and confidence this practice inspires. You can see Dr. Kleiner at Retina Associates of Greater Philadelphia North Wales or Retina Associates of Greater Philadelphia King of Prussia, making it easy to find a location that fits your schedule.
