Russell Pearlman, OD, is an optometrist who began his education at Widener University, where he first developed an interest in the science behind eye health. Dr. Pearlman followed that with a Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, graduating summa cum laude, an experience that gave him strong clinical skills and a deep understanding of patient care. Dr. Pearlman then completed an internship at Philadelphia Naval hospital, Lakenau hospital, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. During residency at The Eye Institute, Dr. Pearlman honed his ability to handle a wide range of eye care situations under the supervision of experienced physicians.
Dr. Pearlman's specialty areas include Primary Eye Care and Contact Lenses & Fittings, and that focused training is something patients benefit from right away. Getting the right contact lens matters more than most people realize, especially when there is an underlying condition involved, and Dr. Pearlman is experienced in navigating those details. In addition to those specialties, Dr. Pearlman works with patients who need help with Ocular Disease Management, and Pre- and Post-Operative Care as well. From the first visit onward, Dr. Pearlman works to make sure patients feel at ease, informed, and confident that they are getting the right care.
Dr. Pearlman stays involved through membership in the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and the Northern Virginia Optometric Association, an investment in professional development that benefits every patient.
