Sabrina Syed, OD, is an optometrist whose undergraduate work in biology was completed at SUNY Stony Brook University. Pennsylvania College of Optometry then conferred the Doctor of Optometry degree. Rotation training ran through a clinic at the Pentagon and a veterans hospital on Long Island, New York, both of which placed the work in adult populations carrying significant medical histories.
The daily work centers on eye examinations and on the management of ocular disease that needs watching over time, from the first sign of a change through the visits that track it. Low vision care and specialty contact lens work sit alongside that general practice, serving patients whose sight cannot be corrected by a routine prescription and patients whose eyes will not accept a standard lens. Individualized care is the organizing idea, so what a patient needs is settled by that patient's eyes, history, and daily demands.
Dr. Syed holds membership in the American Optometric Association and in its Pennsylvania affiliate. Away from the clinic, Dr. Syed attends performances by the Philadelphia Orchestra and watches movies. In Dr. Syed's own words, "Every set of eyes comes with a history, and an examination only makes sense once I understand the person attached to it. My goal is that patients leave knowing exactly what I found and what we are going to do about it." Patients can visit Dr. Syed at Kremer Eye Center in Cherry Hill.
