Bio

Sarah Anis, MD, is a cataract & glaucoma surgeon who earned her medical degree from Government Medical College, setting the stage for a career focused on eye care. During residency at Drexel University, Dr. Anis honed her ability to handle a wide range of eye care situations under the supervision of experienced physicians. Dr. Anis finished her formal training with a fellowship in Glaucoma research, which allowed her to zero in on the kind of care she provides today. Dr. Anis carries all of that training and experience into every visit, making it easier for patients to feel at ease.

Dr. Anis has dedicated a significant part of her career to Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) and Glaucoma Surgery, and that shows in the quality of care patients receive. Glaucoma is a condition that can quietly damage the nerve at the back of the eye over time, often without any noticeable symptoms, which is why routine check-ups play such an important role in catching it early. When the lens of the eye loses its transparency, vision can feel foggy or muted, and Dr. Anis uses up-to-date surgical techniques to help patients see clearly again. Beyond the core specialties, Dr. Anis also handles Secondary Glaucoma, Closed Angle Glaucoma, Open Angle Glaucoma, and Cataract Surgery, so patients do not have to look far for the care they need.

Patients can see Dr. Anis at Rhode Island Eye Institute Providence, Rhode Island Eye Institute South Kingstown, or Rhode Island Eye Institute East Providence, making it easy to find a location that works. If you are looking for an eye care provider who will take the time to get to know you, Dr. Anis would be happy to see you. Eye health is something Dr. Anis cares about deeply, and that shows in how every patient is treated. Dr. Anis takes a patient-first approach, making sure everyone who comes in feels informed and comfortable with their care.
