Sunil Bellur, MD, is a retina specialist & uveitis specialist who earned his medical degree from University of Texas Houston Medical School, setting the stage for a career focused on eye care. Dr. Bellur completed his residency at George Washington University, where he earned the distinction of chief resident, a role that recognizes both skill and leadership. Dr. Bellur rounded out his training with a fellowship in Medical Retina and Uveitis, which gave him a deep, focused understanding of the area where he now spends most of his time helping patients. Dr. Bellur has contributed to clinical research in eye care, showing a commitment that goes beyond just seeing patients.
Dr. Bellur has dedicated a significant part of his career to Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Degeneration, and that shows in the quality of care patients receive. The retina plays a central role in how clearly you see, and when a condition starts to affect it, Dr. Bellur is trained to identify the problem early and put together a plan to address it. Dr. Bellur also has expertise in Retinal Vascular Disorders, and Uveitis & Ocular Inflammation, giving patients access to a wide range of care in one place. Dr. Bellur believes that every patient deserves a clear explanation and enough time to ask questions, and that is what they get at every visit.
Dr. Bellur has also received a grant from the National Institutes of Health, recognizing the value of his contributions to eye care research. When not at the clinic, Dr. Bellur enjoys getting out on the trails for a good hike. Dr. Bellur enjoys cooking in his free time, a creative outlet that keeps life interesting outside of work.
