Tiffany Frey, OD

Bio

Tiffany Frey, OD, grew up in south central Pennsylvania and completed pre-medical undergraduate study at Shippensburg University. The Doctor of Optometry followed in 2008, at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Ocular disease is the center of the work. Diabetes brings patients in for retinal examination on a schedule, because damage accumulates quietly and the first sign is rarely something a patient can feel. Glaucoma is a longer arc still, managed with pressure measurement, imaging, and treatment adjusted as the optic nerve dictates. Macular degeneration is tracked for conversion to the wet form, where the window for treatment is narrow. Sitting inside a surgical practice means the handover is short when an eye reaches the point of needing an operation.

Dr. Frey belongs to the American Optometric Association and to optometric associations at state and regional level, and has been recognized in the Community Choice Awards across two years. Home is a household of eight, including six daughters, and free time goes to the kitchen, to travel, and to swimming and reading. In Dr. Frey's own words, "Most of the eye disease I manage moves slowly, which means the appointments people are tempted to skip are exactly the ones that matter. My job is to notice a change early enough that we still have options." Patients can visit Dr. Frey at Ludwick Eye Center in Chambersburg, Waynesboro, and Hagerstown.
