Bio

Timothea A. Ryan, MD, FAAO, is a cataract & glaucoma surgeon who earned her medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine, setting the stage for a career focused on eye care. Dr. Ryan then completed an internship at Western Pennsylvania Hospital, gaining hands-on experience with real patients in a clinical setting. Residency training at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System gave Dr. Ryan hands-on experience across many areas of eye care, preparing her well for the years ahead. Most recently, Dr. Ryan completed fellowship training in Glaucoma, an experience that sharpened her skills and gave her real confidence in this area of eye care.

Dr. Ryan's specialty areas include Glaucoma Surgery and Dry Eye, and that focused training is something patients benefit from right away. Glaucoma can sneak up without warning, and the damage it causes to the optic nerve is often invisible until it is already significant, so Dr. Ryan makes screening for it a priority. For patients dealing with dry, uncomfortable eyes, Dr. Ryan offers a thorough evaluation and a range of treatment approaches tailored to each person's situation. In addition to those specialties, Dr. Ryan works with patients who need help with General Ophthalmology, and Comprehensive Eye Exams as well.
